SERVICE INFORMATION

Photo Identification: [blacked out]
Name: Leroy Jethro “Gibbs” Jenkins
Rank:
MOS: SF
Billet:
Years of Service: 4 years

Personal Information
Age: 26 years
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 290 lbs
Personality: Leroy Jenkins, or “Gibbs” as he prefers to be called, isn’t the talkative type. When he isn’t brooding over some deep, dark, mysterious thing from his past, he’s plotting on how to get his fellow soldiers out of their latest jam. And when he’s not plotting, he’s executing his brilliant plan, salvaging what can be salvaged, and, most importantly, bringing everyone home alive – and the kittens, he always saves the kittens, the puppies too.

This doesn’t leave much time to attend all of the award ceremonies he’s been invited to (and from here to the White House is such a long flight, and he doesn’t like to be away from his unit for long), but so it goes.

Despite Gibbs’s terseness and tendency to brood, he is still liked and respected for the most part. He’s loyal to his unit and has saved everyone’s life at least twice. In spite of his tendency to be gruff with adults, he has a sensitive streak that occasionally reveals itself when he’s around puppies, kittens, and small, frightened children (who all love him too).

But there’s a darker side to him too. He keeps it hidden for the most part. If it scares anyone who gets a glimpse at it, it scares the living daylights out of him. He’s been some scary places and done some scary things, and it’s changed him. He’s colder now, and harder. Killing is easier, and that’s what scares him the most about himself.
History: He was born Jethro Gibbs and answered to “Gibbs”. Even as a very young child, Gibbs knew what he was expected to become, and his father trained him up as such: One of the greatest mercenary warriors of all time, just like his father. When he was eighteen, he joined a mercenary company named Whiterock. He spent the next few years in the Mid East and Asia, working covert operations. He rose quickly through the ranks and very soon was running his own operations and making the company a good deal of money.

Everything was going fine, great even. Ops were going well, he as making money hand over fist, and things were looking especially promising with the beautiful assassiness, Elaida Callahan. Until that one operation… He never found out for certain who had sold him out to the Chinese, but all the arrows pointed disturbingly to Elaida. She disappeared and Gibbs had to run for it. And all his accounts were frozen, so he couldn’t take any money with him. Elaida’s handiwork?

He went back to the States and obtained a new identity as “Leroy Jenkins,” but he continued to go by “Gibbs.” Some careful probing revealed that Whiterock suspected him of turning on them and running with the money, so rejoining Whiterock was out of the question. Finding himself penniless and hardly cut out for civilian life after the life he’d led, he enlisted. Since joining the Marine Corps, he’s kept a low profile – tried to anyway, these frequent invitations to the White House for award ceremonies draw more attention on his head than he likes. Maybe Whiterock will just let it go, a part of him hopes. But another part of him knows that it’s never over.

Names fine, but we want to see some originality. Also, we really don't want the "SF" type character. We are RPing regular US Marines, not some black ops unit. And for photo, try to get one, this isn't some IC document, its for us as players to get to understand what this character is and what they look like. IRL even SF soldiers see their comrades and know what they look like, but as stated earlier, we're a regular unit.

yeah, so I guess you really like NCIS because personality wise, its a really close rip off of the character from NCIS. Its fine, but I'd really like to see some originality.

As for history, to be frank, no mercenary stuff. The Marine Corps doesn't recruit mercenaries nor do we want that sort of character running around in this RP. Some technical errors, some award ceremonies are held at the unit. The big awards and citations such as the Navy Cross or Medal of Honor may be held at the WH, but receiving awards would not take the Marine away from his/her unit.

And as a technical thing...we're Marines, not soldiers

Basically everything that Hobbar said is what I have to say. I'd like to see some originality -- and nothing too silly, either. We want him to be realistic. To seem like a living, breathing, human-being. Not some cardboard cutout character. Go in depth and please, pick one of our actual MOSs. If you wish to leave the rank section blank, that's fine. We generally pick the ranks anyway.

Secondly, yes. We're Marines. Not soldiers. And "Marine" is ALWAYS capitalized as a matter of pride. Most awards that a Marine is awarded is done within the unit. The unit commander will usually present the award in a large formation of the Marines to the recipient, so you rarely ever leave your unit for such things.

Mercenaries? Oh, that'd be an instant denial if it weren't for the fact that this is your first time posting and the profile looks pretty good, aside from the general rip-off tone of it all. Not only do I not like mercenaries, but the Marine Corps does not associate with them. They're a seedy, untrustworthy group of people who are motivated by greed rather than other personal motivations. Not quite what the Marine Corps is looking for.

All-in-all, it needs a bit of work. So fix it up and get it ready to pass initial muster and you'll be good to go.
