Billet: Sixteenth Fireteam Leader
Years of Service: 3

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Age: 22
Height: 5'9
Weight: 140 lbs
Personality: James was one of those kids that got tired of being picked on in school, just because he was smaller than most boys his age he received cruel treatment from his peers yet he always knew he was destined for something greater. As soon as he entered the Marine Corps he truly came into his own, he was with a brotherhood of men and women that he could always rely on when the time came. James is easy to get along with, but isnt afraid to be stern when necessary. When many of the more senior Marines would play fuck fuck games with the "Boots" just out of Basic James wouldnt subject his subordinates to that. He chooses to have his men respect him for his actions rather than for his rank.
History: James was born in a small town in Manalapan, New Jersey and moved into Hillsborough New Jersey when he was about 7 years old. Going through school was always hard on him because he was always picked on by the other boys who were for the most part bigger than he was. Once James got to highschool his situation improved slightly and in his sophomore year he attended an armed services interest meeting for the Marine Corps, James was eager to prove to everyone that he wasnt a weakling so he marked down his interest and the following year James went through the enlistment process with his parents and joined the Delayed entry program.

James had a lot of fun in the DEP and gained alot of knowledge, he learned some basic drill, went to the ISMUT and participated in a large poolee function involving every potential recruit in the state. After graduation James shipped out to Parris Island for basic training, like everyone else he was nervous and thought about what did he get himself into? but after the initial shock ended he really came into his own. James found drill really easy and actually did really well at learning the movements. Later on in second Phase when the platoon moved to the rifle range James finally had a chance to practice shooting and discovered that even though he had never shot a gun in his life he was an exceptional shot and ended up qualifying as an expert on the known distance range. In third phase the recruits were pushed to their limits during the crucible, stories about the final culminating exam can never fully prepare anyone for going through it. 54 hours of agony as the recruits were forced to rely on each other physically and emotionally to get through the test, but in the end they all came through. Graduation day was one of the most exciting days in James' life, he had finally proven to himself and everyone else that he could do anything.

After his 10 day leave from bootcamp James shipped out to camp Lejeune for SOI. As an infantry Marine James was taught how to work with a fireteam and all the other combat techniques only taught to grunts, other Marines got basic combat training for the first two weeks and then shipped out to there MOS school but grunts like James spent seven weeks learning the nuances of the infantry rifleman or other types of infantry jobs. James showed the best skills with his rifle and was pinned as a 0311 at the end of SOI, but that wasnt enough for him he had found a new passion in marksmanship and wanted to perfect his skills even further. After being promoted to lance corporal James requested to attend scout sniper school, he passed the indoc test and received permission from his commander so he quickly shipped out to Quantico for training.

Marine Corps Scout Sniper school is a nine week long hell in the Virginia mountains where Marines are pushed beyond their limits to become snipers. There is a saying, few become Marines and even fewer become scout snipers...this was no joke, James witnessed half of his class either drop voluntarily or academically from the course but all that mattered was at the end of the nine weeks he received his certification and achieved one of the most coveted MOSs in the armed forces.

SAMPLE ROLE-PLAY

The sun was just beginning to rise in the cool Virginia Autumn, in the trees cleverly camofluaged were two Marine Corps Scount Sniper students. James and his spotter had been given the task of eliminating an instructor playing the part of a terrorist HVT, all the intel they had been given was a description of the target and a general location of where he might be. They had been inserted the night before and had been taken turns sleeping so they could keep an eye on the target area. Several hours passed and it began to get a little warmer outside, fighting boredom was a key factor in a snipers mission along with not only watching for the target but observing the area as well. Just then an SUV rolled around a bend in the road 700 meters infront of their sniper hide, "hey we've got some activity at 700 meters" James spoke to his spotter who had been resting, the other Marine moved over to his spotter scope and began to record the data. "This could be it, I'll radio higher" he said as he grabbed the P.R.C. 17 radio "viper 1 viper 1 this is viper 6, we have visuals on a white ford SUV coming along the road 700 meters north of our position over". A few seconds later a transmission came back over the radio "viper 6 this is viper 1 be advised you must confirm visuals on the target" The truck stopped at the side of the road and four men exited the Vehicle. Three of the men took up security around the truck and the fourth man who wore a Shemagh over his face stepped forward.

"We got him, radio command" James said to his spotter as he lined up his scope for a kill shot, he heard the other marine's voice go out over the radio "viper 1 this is viper 6 be advised we have confirmed visual on the target requesting permission to fire". Command gave the go ahead and the spotter began giving James instructions, "range 705 meters wind blowing right to left at an angle of 10". James dialed in his scope, "ready" he responded, the rifle was loaded with simunation rounds that looked like real ammunition but acted like paintball guns. "Fire" was the order from the spotter, as James squeezed the trigger he slowed his breathing, he felt the bullet leave the barrel and he saw the instructor fall to his knees with a bright red paint splat on his shirt, "Target neutralized".
